Communities Beyond Open Source

This presentation was held at the Red Hat EMEA Partner Summit in Valencia. The slide deck and MP3 file is available from https://emea-partner-summit.com. It shows the development of business oriented communities and highlights their economic advantages to the firms introducing them.

First I introduce some examples from SAP, Fiat and others, then I compare the different approaches of Geoffrey Moore, Eric von Hippel and Clay Shirky to the economic effects of business communities.

The last section is about the motivational factors to participate and contribute.
